Our Story
The candle came first. Then everything else.
Ner Shava was built around a simple conviction: the candle is the most beautiful thing on the Shabbos table. When you light the ner Shabbos it brightens the whole room — and it brings an oneg to Shabbos and Yom Tov that nothing else can.
So we set out to make a candle worthy of that moment. Pure beeswax, hand-poured. Wicks that burn steady and don't smoke or drip. A finish so clean your leichter stays beautiful, week after week.
From day one we made a decision that quietly shaped everything: every step of the work — from the raw wax to the finished box — is done by Shomrei Torah U'Mitzvos. We are, as far as we know, the only candle company in the world where this is true. It is why our candles are the ones you see on so many Shabbos tables in Williamsburg, Boro Park, Monsey and Kiryas Joel.
The Craft
Hand-poured. On purpose.
We could go faster. We choose not to. Every candle in our beeswax and paraffin Shabbos lines is handmade, so the finish, the wick placement and the burn quality are exactly what they should be.
It's a slower way to make a candle. It's the reason our customers keep coming back.
The Promise

When a Yiddishe mama or tatte walks into a store and sees the Ner Shava box on the shelf, we want one thought to come to mind: "Ah… these are the beautiful candles."
